In the recently competed design innovation project ‘Keep your shirt on!’ we investigated how body awareness can be increased through wearable technology. In the project, we focussed on veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and explored how wearable technology can help them deal with stress and anxiety in everyday life. We have created a design fiction to make the problem and solution space concrete, and to raise debate about this topic. A design research proposal is currently being developed. The project team, funded by an NWO grant, is a partnership between the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at TU Delft and Kudding & Partners, a leading healthcare consultancy.
